As a female artist, I participated in the filming of a Chinese dating show. I observed that these shows often promote traditional heteronormative and patriarchal values, objectifying women and presenting them as standardized commodities on stage. By breaking down the gender concepts and role expectations inherent in this traditional Chinese dating ritual, I aim to portray the inner worlds of women and the roles they assume when faced with family and societal norms. My objective is to increase public awareness and stimulate reflection on this matter.
